The Gilman Street Basketball Club is home to the Central Maine Hoops AAU Basketball program. Our placements/tryouts for our spring teams is nowlisted below. If you are interested in playing on one of our club teams, please contact us at gilmanbasketball@gmail.com with any questions. You do not need to preregister for tryouts, however, we will have a form available here to fill out, to save time when you arrive.

Coach Tony Staffiere – Basketball Coaching Biography
Recently, Coach Tony Staffiere served as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Colby College. Prior to joining Colby, Staffiere served three years as head men’s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Division II Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Prior to joining the Mercy Athletics Department, Staffiere spent one year as head women's basketball coach and assistant athletics director at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
He was also head coach of the women's program, assistant athletics director for fundraising and physical education/health lecturer at Regis College from 2002-2004.
The 36-year old native of Veazie, Maine, has been on staff at various basketball camps and clinics, including Five Star Boys Basketball Camps and Five Star Girls Basketball Camps in Pittsburgh, PA. Coach Staffiere has also lectured and worked at the Kansas State University Boys Basketball Camp, University of Notre Dame Boys Basketball Camp, Jim Boeheim Big Orange Camp, Carolina Basketball School, Bob Hurley Reebok All-Star Camp, Jim Calhoun Basketball School and the Geno Auriemma Connecticut Basketball School.
Staffiere has also been as a contributing writer in SLAM Magazine, Five Star Basketball Offensive and Defensive Playbooks, and was featured in Adrian Wojnarowski's bestseller "The Miracle of St. Anthony."
